Wall Street veterans and Managing Principals Jon Haahr and Burl East, each with more than 25 years of real estate, capital markets and investment experience, established Silver Portal in 2001. Their continuing goal is for the firm to be the preeminent real estate investment and merchant banking boutique.

Silver Portal is the natural progression of a 15-year working relationship between Mr. Haahr and Mr. East in the real estate capital markets. Together, they founded and built the Real Estate Investment Banking Group of Kemper/EVEREN Securities into a business with fee revenue in excess of $30 million a year. This pattern of success continued following the acquisition of EVEREN in 1999 by what is now Wachovia Securities where they were Co-heads of Real Estate Investment Banking and Research. There they re-engineerd the group's strategy and developed significant new client relationships, prior to forming Silver Portal Capital.
